A blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that restores a youthful eyelid shape. It can be performed to improve upper eyelid contour (upper blepharoplasty) or to remove bags under the eyes (lower blepharoplasty). Blepharoplasty may also be done for functional reasons, to remove excess skin over the eyelashes that obstruct vision.
