Fortunately, there is a way to reduce or eliminate these signs of aging around the eyes. The two main alternatives are either surgery to remove the bags, or the application of dermal fillers to reduce their appearance.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"vc_custom_heading vc_custom_1583334911145\">Why do bags under the eyes form?<\/h2>\n<p>To understand how dermal fillers work to treat under-eye bags, we need to know why bags appear in the first place.\u00a0 In younger patients, bags under the eyes are noticeable because of poor bony support in the maxilla, under the eye socket. This condition is called maxillary hypoplasia, and a genetic component plays a key factor in its occurrence. A trough is formed between the lower eyelid and the cheek.
